London, Feb 10 : Singer Lady Gaga has launched her own social networking site called LittleMonsters.com.

The 25-year-old has launched the website for her fans where they will be able to convey and share their views, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Matt Michelsen, CEO and co-founder of Backplane, the company behind the website, said: “Backplane is about bringing together communities and Gaga’s community just so happens to be the community we’re using to learn about proper functionality. We think we can really change the world.”

‘Skyfall’ to hit Indian screens Nov 2

New Delhi, Feb 1 : The latest instalment of “James Bond” franchise “Skyfall” will release in India Nov 2 this year and the first official shot of the movie has been released.

Directed by Oscar-winning Sam Mendes, the movie will begin its worldwide roll-out later this year. The movie will first release in Britain and Ireland Oct 26 and in North America Nov 9, said a statement.

While Daniel Craig will be seen as the British superspy, the cast of the film also includes Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Berenice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney and Judi Dench.

The screenplay is written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan.

Mehra keen to shoot ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ in Pakistan

New Delhi: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who is currently working on one of his most ambitious projects “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”, is keen to shoot the film in Pakistan.

The film, a biopic of Olympian sprinter Milkha Singh, stars Farhan Akhtar in the title role and the director believes that shooting the film in neighbouring country will give it authenticity as the iconic athlete was born and brought up in a town that is now in Pakistan.

“Yes we are quiet keen to shoot in Pakistan to get more authenticity. We will be applying for permission soon,” Mehra said in a statement.

Known as The Flying Sikh, Milkha Singh was born in Lyallpur which is now in Pakistan’s Punjab province and has been renamed Faisalabad. He represented India in the 1960 Rome Olympics the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

Meanwhile, Farhan is working hard for the project. Not only has he started growing a beard and wearing a turban to perfect his look, but also met the athlete for tips.

The shooting will start in mid-2012.

Kareena perfect choice for ‘Heroine’, says Priyanka

New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra admits Madhur Bhandarkar offered his most ambitious project “Heroine” to her, but she couldn’t accept it due to its streak of similarity with “Fashion”. However, she is sure Kareena Kapoor will do full justice to the role.

“Madhur and I did talk about ‘Heroine’. For me, however, it would have been like a Bollywood version of ‘Fashion’. Kareena is the perfect choice. She’s such a brilliant actor,” Priyanka told ETC’s “Bollywood Business” host and trade analyst Komal Nahta on his show.

“As a filmmaker, Madhur brings out the best in any actor, and Kareena’s such a superior one,” she added on the episode to be aired Wednesday.

Both the actresses shared the screen in hit movie “Aitraaz”.

Aishwarya Rai was the original choice for “Heroine”, which narrates the journey of a once successful film actress whose career is on the decline.

Bhandarkar had begun shooting with Ash, but the project was put on hold when the actress’ pregnancy was announced. Later, several rumours about the replacement made their way. However, Kareena was zeroed in on as the final choice.

The “Heroine” team is already shooting.

As for Priyanka, she is busy promoting her upcoming film “Don 2: The King Is Back”, in which she plays Roma or ‘Jungle billi’. The film releases Friday.

Bieber doesn’t believe in Santa Claus

Los Angeles: Teen singer Justin Bieber says his mother Pattie Mallette never allowed him to believe in Santa Claus.

“My mom always told me there wasn’t a Santa. This was her logic – she thought if I grew up knowing about Santa, then finding out he wasn’t real, that it would be like she was lying to me. And then when she told me about god, I maybe wouldn’t believe her,” Bieber told AOL Music.

However, the 17-year-old is happy that his mother was “straight-up and honest with me all the time”.

Bieber said he kept the holiday spirit alive for his childhood pals. “I didn’t tell my friends or ruin it for anyone — I was a good kid!”

Bollywood floods Riteish with B’day wishes

New Delhi: For some he is one of the nicest and funniest person, and for some, he is the “biggest budmaash” — Bollywood celebrities have sent out a lot of love and good wishes for actor Riteish Deshmukh, who turned 33 Saturday.

His actress fiance Genelia D’Souza, whom he is set to marry in Feb 2012, sent out a mushy wish for him on social networking site Twitter.

“Happy birthday to the bestest, most adorable and the sweetest person I have ever known and will ever know, @Riteishd you make life special by just being in it,” posted Genelia, who even congratulated her beau for the news of a ‘Legends Walk’ that he is planning at Bandra, Mumbai.

According to media reports, Riteish, also an architect, is planning a desi version of the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, with star handprints embedded into the sidewalk — a project similar to that planned by entertainment channel UTV Stars.

“Congrats @Riteishd on the ‘Legends Walk’, super sweet thought and because of you, how lucky we are to have all our superstars’ handprints embedded into d sidewalk,” wrote Genelia.

Among others who wished the actor a happy and successful life were Karan Johar, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, Dia Mirza, Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar and Lara Dutta.

London: Singer Celine Dion says that she is a shoe addict and owns “about 3,000″ pairs of different footwear.

The 43-year-old admits she can’t resist adding more pairs to her footwear range when she goes out shopping.

Riteish wants to keep his wedding private affair

Mumbai: Actor Riteish Deshmukh, who will tie the knot with actress Genelia D’Souza early next year, wants to keep the wedding away from media glare. However, being an actor and a politician’s son, he knows it’s not possible.

“I would like to keep my entire wedding plan under personal space but it will not be that way eventually, but it’s something that will happen when it has to happen,” said the 32-year-old actor here at a garment store launch.

Son of Mahrashtra’s former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Riteish has been in the industry for eight years now and is happy the way his career has shaped up.

“I am very happy the way I have spent the past eight-nine years. I have worked with so many actors, directors and producers. It’s more than what I had expected,” said Riteish, who made his Bollywood debut opposite his fiance Genelia in “Tujhe Meri Kasam” in 2003. It was Genelia’s first film as well.

Riteish has done some brilliant comedies such as “Masti”, “Apna Sapna Money Money”, “Malamaal Weekly”, “Heyy Babyy”, “Housefull” and “Double Dhamaal”.

He is currently working on “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya”, “Housefull 2″ and “Kya Super Kool Hain Hum”.

MJ’s hair in roulette ball

Los Angeles: A clump of Michael Jackson’s hair will be used to manufacture a roulette ball.

The bosses of Onlinegamblingpal.com bought the hair, which was collected at a New York hotel following the King of Pop’s stay there, at an auction.

“We have decided to convert Michael Jackson’s hair into a roulette ball – an appropriately unique way to immortalise a small part of a truly peerless entertainer,” a spokesman for the company told Nme.com.

“The ball itself will be made to the highest professional standards, ensuring it will be eligible for use at any licensed casino’s roulette table. Indeed, considering Jackson dedicated his life to entertaining millions, the prospect of this very special ball captivating crowds at roulette tables seems like a fitting use for it,” the spokesman added.

Colors snaps up rights to Screen Awards

New Delhi: Hindi entertainment channel Colors has bagged the rights to telecast the 18th edition of Screen Awards, a property that has been associated with Star Plus for over a decade.

The Colors Screen Awards, as they are now called, will be held in January 2012.

Initiated in 1994, these awards are given in over 30 categories to recognise upcoming talent and professional excellence in Hindi and Marathi cinema. Officials at Colors, one of the leading Hindi general entertainment channels, are happy with the acquisition of the award ceremony.

“The Screen Awards is one of the most popular and recognised award functions in the Indian film industry’s calendar and we are extremely proud to be associated with it,” Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors, said in a press statement.

“It has been our constant endeavour to make Colors the one-stop entertainment hub for our audiences by bringing to them excellence in terms of shows, events and movies and through the acquisition of this property we hope to achieve just that,” he added.

Shekhar Gupta, Editor-in-Chief of The Express Group, which organises the annual extravaganza, said: “Cinema is bristling with talent, these awards applaud and celebrate this creative upsurge.”

The event will see the presence and performances of some big names from the industry.

The awards will be decided through a unique, two-step screening process that includes a Screen Selection Academy, which send their recommendations to a select Screen Jury.

Previous jury chairpersons included veterans like Ramesh Sippy, Amol Palekar, Jeetendra, Asha Parekh, Shatrughan Sinha and Waheeda Rehman.
